Home: Welcome

Since the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak, Sarah has been in much demand, providing a reassuring voice and reliable medical advise for the nation and beyond.
Dr Sarah Jarvis MBE trained at Cambridge and Oxford Universities before becoming a GP partner in 1990 in an inner-city practice in London and was a partner there for over 27 years.
Sarah has been the Clinical Director of Patient.info since 2017, having been a clinical consultant with the website since 2013. She continues to act as a GP locum at her old practice, keeping in touch with the front line, and of course her patients of many years’ standing. She was awarded an MBE in the 2018 New Year’s honours list for services to general practice and public understanding of health. In 2021, Sarah was appointed visiting Professor of General Practice at the University of Huddersfield.
You’ll most likely recognise Sarah from her extensive media appearances on TV, Radio and in the Press, although her entry into the media world was entirely by accident, stemming from just one interview through her work with the Royal College of GPs - and the phone hasn’t stopped ringing since!
Sarah is the BBC One Show’s very own GP, appearing regularly to offer advice on all manner of health issues. She has literally covered every imaginable condition from chronic hiccups to major medical breakthroughs, and has been a trusted voice throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
For the last 17 years she has been the resident doctor for the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2, and regularly joins Jeremy on his Channel 5 programme. She also appears as the guest doctor on broadcasts such as Good Morning Britain, BBC World News, BBC Radio 4, Radio 5 live, Channel 5 News, LBC and spent 10 years as ITN’s Lunchtime News Doctor. She also writes regular columns for My Weekly and Good Housekeeping.
On a lighter note, she has even appeared on a Doctor’s special of quiz show Pointless…she was the only medical doctor present, sharing the set with fictional doctors, including a time traveller!
In addition to her journalism, she has written 6 books.
Sarah is a proud member of the advisory board for the British Journal of Cardiology and has chaired the healthcare committee of the cholesterol charity HEART UK. She also acts as a medical advisor to a host of nationwide brands.
